Small, and deliberate about it.
Staying this size is a decision, not a stage we are passing through. Fewer people means longer attention on each product, and nobody sitting far enough from the result to stop caring how it turns out. There are costs to working this way, and we have decided to pay them.

What you would actually be doing

Whole products, not tickets
You would carry something from the first rough sketch to the support emails it produces months later. Nobody hands you a piece of it and takes the rest away, and there is nobody else to blame for the part that does not work.

Taste is part of the job
Deciding what not to build, and what to cut from something already built, counts as much here as the building does. Bring opinions. Be willing to lose an argument to a better one, including one from a user you have never met.

Users are close
Nothing sits between the people who make the products and the people who use them. You will read the support mail, and some weeks you will answer it. Some of it will be unkind and some of it will be right, and occasionally the same message is both.
02 · What we look for
One instinct matters more than the résumé
We care whether you can look at something complicated and tell which parts are load-bearing and which are just habit that nobody has questioned. Most people list everything. The useful answer is short, and the person giving it often cannot say how they knew.
After that the list is short: you finish things, you can explain a decision without pointing at a framework or a famous company that does it that way, and you would rather ship something small that works than something large that might.

When there is a role, it will be posted here. Leaving this section empty is deliberate: collecting applications for a job that does not exist wastes the applicant's evening and teaches us nothing.
